1940s Babe Ruth Baseball Cards

Even long after his 1935 retirement as a Boston Brave, Ruth's iconic status led to his inclusion in several 1940's baseball card sets. Some of these cards celebrated Ruth's inclusion as an inaugural member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The 1948 Leaf set produced the most popular Babe Ruth baseball card of the decade.  It was a simple set that featured many established legends and rising stars.  It was an attractive set and includes one of the finer Ruth cards of the post-war era.
